September 4th..

Where did the summer go.. well we know it was rainy, hot and humid on many a Wednesday.  So we continue to play.. at least until the end of September.

Just a remember: The Closing Event is September 25th for the Chapter.

Why not join me there!

August 15th...

Good News from our league members.. 3 are advancing to Wisconsin!

Congratulations to Donna McBride, Susan Hunsicker, and Pat Sierzant!

I thought you might like to know how our members did yesterday at the EWGA Semi-finals in Virginia.

Donna shot 100 and won low gross in her flight.

Susan shot 99 and won low net in her flight.

Pat shot 116 which was good enough for low net in her flight.

August 4th..  News Update:

Please call the Club to reserve your tee time. (610 382 9320)
It has been hot, but not too hot to play 9 holes of golf.

I have seen our regulars.. thanks for playing... Donna, Pat, Susan, Liz, Mary, and Sandy.. if I missed your name come out next week and I will remember to post it on the next League News.

There was a 3 way tie for the Green and Fairway Challenge..

When you check in look for the next Challenge!

Have a great game.. hit them straight!

About Dining after play.. several of us have decided we prefer "99",  join us after your game.
There's always plenty of room and individual checks!

Congratulations on the Chapter Championship go to our League members:

Susan Hunsicker..... won low net in the 2nd flight
Donna McBride....... won low net in the 3rd flight
Pat Sierzant............. won low net in the 4th flight..

We may be small but we are mighty!

July 7th.. the heat is on.. a few players again braved the heat!

Donna McBride reported she golfed alone no one there when she teed off.. sorry Donna too hot for your coordinator.

This has been a very hot start but I am hoping it will cool down without raining and we can get on with our golf challenges.  Look for announcements when the next Challenge will take place.

May 27th.. 8 brave members played in the heat of the day. We all went into Chadwick's to have a bite to eat and a cold drink. Previous weeks I was away and it was reported we had some rain. I am hoping it will not be a rainy or hot season this year. Remember think 'Cool Breezes'!!

Just a couple of reminders when you dine at Chadwick's..
(1) For service go directly to the Hostess to be seated.
(2) It it well advised to ask for the Dining Room or the Patio.
(3) Small groups will have no problems asking for separate checks.
(4) ENJOY your meal for the most part the food is really good at Chadwick's.

Chadwick's will be having all you can eat crabs and music on Wednesday evenings.
Check this out when you come out to play golf.

FOOT NOTE:  Someone needs to remember a camera.. no pictures to post!!

Many more  golfers attended than was expected at the Happy Hour/Orientation Wednesday,  March 24th.  Over 30 golfers arrived to learn more about the Shannondell League.  I hope for those that attended I was able to answer all your questions regarding this League.

For those who could not attend; below are some points that I covered at the orientation.

1. The League Book (now light green)   Starting tomorrow Wednesday March 31st  it will be in the Pro Shop when you check in to play or call to make or cancel a Tee Time.  On Wednesday Evenings .. when you POST your score you will most likely find the book in the bar.  It likes a little drink after play. Please return the Book to the Pro Shop if you are the last person entering your score.  MOST like it will be me!

2. About the BOOK:
Tee Times:  You can make a tee time either by calling the Club (610 382 9320)
or the week prior entering  your tee time in the book.
Score Sheet:  You can begin to enter your scores STARTING in May.
It is well advised to do this for many reasons ---  the most important is to track your   game especially your improvement.
Ringer Board: On this sheet each week you enter the best score you had  that round.
      This also STARTS in May.
For example---- the first week you had a 7 on the first hole the next week you had a 5 (remember this is an example)  You erase the 7 and enter the 5.
Congratulations you are improving!
Par and Birdie Trees: We now have both to encourage the beginners that they can enter their pars not just the birdies.  At the back of the book you will find little circles enter you name, date and the hole # you made your par or birdie on and paste it on the appropriate tree.  Congratulations again!  You will receive a pin one when getting your par and one when getting your birdie.

3. General Information will be found at the back of the Book for example definition of Levels of Play.

4. Handicap: This year establishing a handicap is  highly recommended. The directions on how to post are found on the EWGA Website.

5. The Restaurant:  We are now playing on an evening when the bar/restaurant will be open.

6. In Closing:  It's TIME TO PLAY SOME GOLF!!!
Practice play starts next Wednesday April 7th .  I hope to see you all real soon.

Reminder: You can start keeping your handicap now. Starting now will really show how you are progressing. Check your email from Dot, she explained how to get to the handicap system.
