The Greater Philadelphia Chapter will join the PGA of Philadelphia at Play Golf America Day on Saturday, May 10th a Woods Golf Center on Germantown Pike in Norristown. We will have a booth at the event and need volunteers to staff the booth from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please e-mail Gail Heinemeyer at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are able to give an hour or two of your time on that day. Membership Committee The Membership Committee is a great way to get to meet everyone in the Chapter! Assist with recruitment of new members and retention of existing members; greet new members at events, help plan and implement ongoing membership welcome and orientation programs. Help spread the word by asking local golf clubs to display our membership materials. LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE Do you like to make a difference and assist in the future leadership growth of your Chapter? The Leadership Committee helps links people’s natural gifts and talents to the needs of the Chapter. They work to continually develop Chapter leaders by assisting Committee Chairs with finding committee volunteers and grooming them for a future leadership role on the Board, a necessary step that will take the Chapter far into the future! COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEEThe Communications Committee is a great way to be in the know! They create and publish Chapter newsletters, assist in the development and maintenance of the website and have the opportunity to work with the media. We need league reporters who can summarize the weekly action at each league site for the newsletter and website. Golf Events Chair Do you enjoy planning and running successful events? Never planned an event, but would like to? Then Golf Events is for you! This team plans and implements organized play opportunities in addition to league offerings for players of all skill levels. Assistance is needed to prepare and distribute goodie bags, arrange for prizes, work with golf course staff, help with check-in on the day of the event, and report outing results,
One of the most popular forms of organized play is league play. Be a part of the team that plans and delivers this popular offering that goes a long way towards member satisfaction. We need two to three people for each league site to help coordinate play with the golf course, maintain the league book, track attendance, run monthly skills contests, and welcome new members,
Are you a great fundraiser? Can you make the call to the decision-maker? If you said “yes” then the sponsorship committee is your new home! Help develop Chapter partnerships and secure sponsorship dollars and in-kind donations for Chapter operations. This is a great way to get involved in the community and build local relationships. SOCIAL EVENTS COMMITTEEAre you a people person? A natural net-worker? This is a great way to get to know the members of the Association by promoting fellowship and business networking. This committee plans an array of non-golf activities to meet members’ needs. the committee organizes the Tee-off event and plans social activities throughout the year, especially during the off season. All ideas are encouraged...trip to NYC, dinner and a show in Philadelphia, wine-tasting, golf fashion show, Phillies game, or anything else to bring members together GOLF EDUCATION & PLAYER DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEEKnow a lot about golf? Or, do you want to learn more about the rules of golf? Join the education committee and assist with coordinating golf education opportunities for players of all skill levels. A major goal of our chapter is to help golfers of all levels know the basic rules and etiquette of the game. HANDICAP COMMITTEE Be a part of the effort to help other golfers obtain and maintain a handicap. The Handicap Committee educates members on the need for handicaps and assists members in establishing and maintaining a handicap. We want to encourage all of our members to establish a handicap. There is a need for a handicap liaison at each league site to work with the committee chairperson. event captain Check in participants and hand out "goodie" bags at our outings. You would need to arrive about an hour before check in time for the event. We need two event captains for each of our outings. This is a wonderful way to meet people in EWGA! |
