Traveling Match Play

Traveling Match Play

Match Play is the second most popular form of competition in golf, after stroke play. If you have never played it, it is a really fun alternative to stroke play and something you certainly should try.
The popular Traveling Match Play League is returning with a new format. It will allow more players to participate and everyone will be able to play more matches. Keep your golf skills honed by participating with the Traveling Match Play League. It is a great way to  meet new members too.
The league is open to experienced golfers with a USGA verifiable handicap. Players of all levels are encouraged to join. The league will be structured so that you will be playing against players of similar ability. Players choose a mutually convenient golf course for their match. Often they invite other league members to join them to round out their foursome.
The league will be made up of flights of 8 , arranged by handicap. After the first match, winners go into one bracket and the losers in another within a flight. The rest of the league will a round robin. Each player will play a match with each other player in her bracket.
The winner of each flight will be the player with the most points in her 3 round robin matches.
There will be a Grand Prize winner , the player who has the highest points total from all 4 matches.
The league will run from April 30 through July 24. There will be a time window of 3 weeks in which each match must be played.
